History

Midwest Occupational Medicine was founded in 1992 by Dr. George Dirkers, in Wood River, Illinois, after recognizing the need for quality medical care for local business and industry. The business continued to steadily expand with injury management, consulting services, and on-site staffing. As the business grew, a second office was opened in Belleville, Illinois in 1997. In 2015, Midwest Occupational Medicine opened a satellite office in Collinsville, Illinois, in conjunction with the American Allied Safety Council, to consolidate and eliminate duplicate medical evaluations, substance abuse testing, and safety training for local labor. Midwest Occupational Medicine continues to grow a presence, coast to coast, through its national consulting and 24 hour on-call services.
